Exceptional Performance
The Intel Core i5 6600K and Core i7 6700K are based on the new and improved Skylake architecture that delivers more performance per clock, with games and applications all benefiting from the extra speed. Both processors also support Turbo Boost, which automatically increases the processor frequency when you most need it, giving an extra boost of speed.
Overclocking Prowess
For the ultimate in performance you can easily overclock both Core 6000-series processors using the CPU multiplier in the BIOS. The maximum stable overclock varies from CPU to CPU and is also dependent on the motherboard, RAM, CPU cooler and PSU, but you can expect to overclock the new CPUs to around 4.5GHz, giving up to an amazing 25% extra performance.
Faster memory
Previous generation Intel processors such as the Core i7 4790K processor used DDR3 memory, typically running at 1600 or 2133MHz. The new Intel Core i5 6600K and Core i7 6700K have an enhanced memory controller that supports DDR4 memory. DDR4 runs between 2133 and 3000MHz, giving a very healthy performance boost over DDR3.
Blisteringly Fast Storage
Combined one of the new Intel 6000-series processors with a motherboard based on the Intel Z170 chipset and you can take advantage of the extra performance of PCI-E SSDs. Depending which SSD you choose it could run as much as 134% faster than on an Intel 5000-series processor with an Intel Z97 motherboard.
On-board Graphics
If you're not playing AAA games on a discrete graphics card then take advantage of the new Intel HD graphics 530 processor. Built into the Core i5 6600K and Core i7 6700K this new on-board graphics processor is up to 28% faster than previous generation GPUs, giving you smoother frame rates in games and graphics applications.
