Enya Guitars
Finding a niche in a saturated market is the golden ticket for most companies but finding a niche and having name familiarity out of the box is even better. Enya, and no not the Irish esoteric warbler of “Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)” fame, but the Texas based guitar manufacturer. Founded in 1985 they have become synonymous with ukeleles but have branched out to electric and acoustic guitars with one eye firmly on innovation within that sector.
Enya have sought to build elegant looking instruments with classic features found on all guitars but with some design variation and additional digital improvements. AcousticPlus is an integrated digital platform within the Enya acoustic range that allows the user to add individual effects and project them through the inbuilt speaker. Reverb, fusion (a kind of tremolo effect) and delay can be added individually to flavour to your tone and with the mobile app you can even add a drum backing track. The acoustic itself is very much travel size, in fact its only marginally larger than a large Uke making its portability incredible. The AcousticPlus guitars have an in-built rechargeable battery. Like a lot of the Enya brand the AcousticPlus guitars are made from carbon fibre making them very light and extremely durable.
Enya also produce a wide range of full-size acoustics with a fitted AcousticPlus pickup as an option. These acoustics range from entry level prices all the way to the £1000 T-10SOM Solid Spruce topped acoustic. There is also a range of AcousticPlus ukeleles for those wanting to add some flavour to their folk tunes.
NEXG
One of the most eye-catching members of the Enya family is the NEXG series of nylon strung acoustics. With a tradition neck and headstock married to their futuristic minimalist body shape. The NEXG is a showstopper in looks alone but with a huge range of innovative digital enhancements the NEXG will make you think twice about you next classical guitar purchase. The flagship NEXG has a touchscreen control, rechargeable battery, and 50w built in speaker. It comes with an impressive array of digital options including a tuner, drum machine, 20 slots of preset storage and an onboard looper. You can also go further with APP control adding more effects, ability to chain effects and acoustic profiling.
Nova Go Sonic Electric Guitar
Nova Go Sonic is Enyas foray into the electric guitar world and although approached with some trepidation has proven doubters wrong. An in-built speaker on an electric guitar might seem somewhat redundant but with the price point being around £350 this would be most guitar players second guitar and as such would make an exception travel or practise guitar. If you are a guitarist who has to put their Mesa Boogie 4x12 on the lowest volume possible to practise a built in speaker with digital effects starts to make a lot more sense. The guitar itself has a C shaped neck, carbon fibre body with Alnico II & 5 humbuckers. The tone and playability are a constant surprise to new players and the additional depth through the speaker and built in effects which can be controlled via the Mobile app are an extra layer of fun and playability.
Enya guitars are always looking to not only innovate but improve on existing guitar architecture to give the player the best traditional guitar while marrying the best that compact digital devices can offer. To find out more about Nova Go Sonic please follow the below link.
