Faith Guitars
Born from a passion for well crafted, ethically sourced guitars, faith sprung to life in 2002. A team of highly experienced luthiers led by legendary guitar maker Patrick James Eggle (PJE). Eggle most famous for his high-end custom electric guitars has many decades putting incredible instruments in the hands of some of the most famous musicians in the world. Faith guitars have several unique features from tone wood choices to ethical business practises, Faith have sought out the best way to create a sustainable business while creating top quality instruments. This is largely due to their love of good woods sourced from places capable of sustainable, environmentally friendly practises.
Eggles approach to design is also unique, with a final result already envisioned, PJE sets about sourcing the ideal top (Solid Englemann Spruce), back and side tone woods, the ideal bracing and touch points. His vision is to create a visually stunning instrument that inspires the player to pick it up. The use of sustainably sourced solid tops from North America gives Faith guitars the clarity and high-end sparkle while the choice of Mahogany for Faiths Natural series, Eclipse series and Naked series mellows the tone with a higher mid-low and higher mid treble to give a well-rounded tone. Rosewood used on the Faith Hi-gloss series gives deeper low end providing more powerful overtones and resonance.
Faiths mission from the outset has been to provide a guitar that can be sustainably crafted with woods sustainable sourced, to this end they have partnered with a number of environmental and ecological organisations to ensure the future of forests. Just one tree ensures that for every individual guitar that is built at least one tree is planted. Just one tree also focus planting on areas affected most by deforestation. They also plant trees on land and in the oceans cultivating a true well rounded eco system. Just one tree also provides education empowering the next generation of people that work with wood while looking to encourage sustainable incomes in the areas most affected. Faith also changed from hide glue (animal hide) to white glue (synthetic) in 2021 to further broaden their principals of sustainability.
While Faith guitars are designed in the UK they are hand built in Java, Indonesia. Faith have ensured that working practises are fair and free from exploitation. Their luthiers are well trained, they work 8am-5pm and all extra work is paid as overtime ensuring skilled workers are not only retained but happy.
As acoustic guitars go Faith have managed to create extremely high-end performing instruments while remaining at a mid-range price. Their roster of artists is impressive and having played several models I can attest to their extreme playability.
