What is an AMD Radeon Graphics Card?
Though many modern CPUs are equipped with integrated graphics, these are only really suitable for basic tasks such as web browsing and office applications. Therefore, you should seriously consider buying a separate graphics card if you want to play games or create your own graphics or videos.
The AMD Radeon Range Explained
With prices ranging from around £150, there’s an AMD Radeon GPU for every gamer. Each Radeon GPU card has its own benefits and features designed to provide a great gaming experience for every budget.

RDNA 3 ARCHITECTURE
AMD RDNA 3 architecture introduces significant architecture advancements in the form of an enhanced compute unit, new visual pipeline, and all new AMD Infinity Cache, enabling high resolution gaming performance with vivid visuals. AMD RDNA 3 architecture delivers up to 50% more performance per watt over the previous RDNA 2 architecture.

INFINITY CACHE
AMD Infinity Cache, an all-new cache level that enables high bandwidth performance at low power and low latency. This global cache is seen by the entire graphics core, capturing temporal re-use and enabling data to be accessed instantaneously. Leveraging the best high frequency approaches from "Zen" architecture, AMD Infinity Cache enables scalable performance for the future.

SMART ACCESS MEMORY
In a conventional gaming PC, the CPU can only access a fraction of graphics memory (VRAM) at once, limiting system performance. AMD Smart Access Memory, which works when you combine a Radeon RX 6000-series GPU or later with a Ryzen 5000-series CPU, the data channel gets expanded to harness the full potential of GPU memory, utilising the bandwidth of PCIe to remove the bottlenecks and increase performance by up to 11%.

HARDWARE ACCELERATED RAY TRACING
Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs or later enables real time ray traced graphics in games. Unlike traditional rasterised graphics, ray tracing simulates how light beams and shadows actually work, providing far more rich and realistic graphics. While ray tracing as a technique has been used for decades in pre-rendered films, what makes Radeon RX GPUs unique is that they are powerful enough to produce ray traced graphics in real time.

UNIFYING VISUALS
Jump into vivid gaming action with support for DirectX 12 Ultimate and optimisations for AMD FidelityFX enabling realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections along with new levels of detail. FidelityFX helps deliver ultimate visual quality with minimal performance overhead, freeing up your graphics card to power the intense gaming experiences you demand.
