Solid state drives are internal storage devices for desktop PCS and laptops. With no moving parts they rely on flash technology to reliably store data with little wear and tear. Offering fast access, the Intel range of consumer SSDs provides cost effective performance.
The Intel Consumer SSD Range Explained
The SSD range is split into the several series - the 500, 600 and 700-series SSDs are based on QLC 3D NAND in either a 2.5in or an M.2 form factor; and the 800 and 900-series using Intel Optane technology for more demanding workloads, and available in M.2, U.2 and PCIe add in card versions.

Intel Optane technology is an entirely new class of non-volatile memory. Its high speed and density eliminates processing bottlenecks and improves performance in the most demanding applications.
QLC 3D NAND
Intel QLC 3D NAND Technology provides up to 33% higher areal density than its 3D NAND predecessor. It also uniquely features PCIe acceleration, to deliver a reliable mix of performance, capacity, and value-making it a smart storage solution.
